Romania elected to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization

On September 25, 2007, Romania was elected to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in Part III, during the 36th Session of the General Assembly, held in Montreal (18-28 September 2007). For this section of the Council, Romania came second, with a total of 137 votes.

This success emphasizes the sound position Romania has achieved within the international framework, and will facilitate Romania's strong commitment to enhancing the role ICAO bears to the safe and orderly development of international civil aviation.

Romania will hold the mandate as member of the Council of ICAO for 2007-2010.
